How much does it cost to transport a pallet?

Pallet transport rates depend on your specific requirements and various factors. Rates vary based on the desired mode of transport, the distance between the pickup and drop-off locations, and the type of goods being shipped. Additionally, the dimensions and weight of the pallet play a significant role in determining costs.

Pallet dimensions

At Kuipers Logistics, we arrange transport for many different types of pallets. However, two types of pallets are most common: the Euro pallet (80 cm x 120 cm) and the block pallet (100 cm x 120 cm).

Pallet weight

When it comes to pallet weight, there are two key factors to consider: the weight of the pallet itself and the weight of the goods on the pallet. For our rate calculations, we only consider one factor: the total weight. We adhere to the following standards:

  • Weight of 1 m³ = 330 kilograms
  • Weight of 1 Euro pallet = 700 kilograms (floor area 80 x 120 cm / 0.4 loading meter)
  • Weight of 1 block pallet = 875 kilograms (floor area 100 x 120 cm / 0.5 loading meter)
  • Weight of 1 loading meter = 1,750 kilograms (floor area 100 x 240 cm)

A maximum of 24 tons gross can be loaded per trailer.

This is based on transport using a curtain-sided trailer (dimensions 13.60 x 2.45 x 2.62 meters – LxWxH). This allows us to fill the entire trailer without exceeding the maximum allowable weight.

Is your pallet heavier? In most cases, that’s not a problem. Just mention it in your request or contact us.

Transporting pallets to Italy

As an international transport company, we specialize in transport to Italy. We offer various options, including full truckloads, less-than-truckloads, groupage, refrigerated, and specialized transport, especially for pallets. Whether you want to transport one pallet or multiple pallets, we can handle it all.

We provide daily departures for road transport and can also arrange intermodal transport for your pallets. This way, we offer solutions that fit your needs, including delivery to hard-to-reach locations and a 24-hour service for Northern Italy.

Transporting pallets from India

Kuipers is your specialized partner for pallet transport to and from India. We handle both imports and exports, with your own contact person guiding you personally from start to finish.

Our expertise includes both air freight and ocean freight, from full containers to groupage transport. At Kuipers, we manage all customs formalities, including import and export clearance. With ISO and AEO certification, we guarantee quality and safety.

How many pallets fit in a trailer?

Our trailers are 13.60 meters long and can hold a maximum of 34 Euro pallets (though the standard calculation is usually 33 Euro pallets measuring 120 cm x 80 cm).

If you have block pallets (100 cm x 120 cm), we can load 26 block pallets.

Air freight

Intermodal transport

Intermodal transport involves moving goods from point A to point B using different types of transport modalities without reloading the goods. A trailer can be placed on a boat or a train to transport it from A to B.

We see a significant rise in this mode of transport, driven partly by climate goals and lower transportation costs. Intermodal transport greatly contributes to CO2 reduction for international transport. Therefore, all our trailers are suitable for intermodal rail transport.
